ONE’S MIND IN REDESIGNING SOCIETY

During my first term in the MA Design Management program at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London, I had the opportunity to study a unit titled "Design Society and Cultures." This unit delves into the origins of Design Management, examining the intricate ways in which design influences society and cultures, and how these elements reciprocally shape the practice of design. It also encourages students to explore their own perceptions and approaches to design.

Reflective Journal

Year
2022

As part of the coursework, each student was tasked with creating a reflective journal. My journal offers insights into how an Indonesian Muslim woman interprets and navigates the field of design management within the broader societal context. The connections I have made between my life experiences and this unit have been truly enlightening. My longstanding interest in the interplay between society, culture, and design has found a perfect outlet in this reflective journal.

The journey of learning and creating this journal was immensely enjoyable and enriching. It also significantly contributed to the improvement of my writing skills. I invite you to read my reflections and welcome any feedback or critiques, as they are invaluable for my growth. Should you have any questions or wish to discuss the topics further, please feel free to reach out. I would be delighted to engage in a conversation.

Enjoy reading!
